Four & Twenty Blackbirds

I normally do not blog about cake and pies and other fattening foods.  But every so often you have to indulge and give in to a guilty pleasure.  Well I found just that in Brooklyn!

Melissa and Emily Elsen made their way to Brooklyn from South Dakota to open a pie shop.  Their pie and coffee shop is in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn.  They expected to serve about ten pies a day. Now a year later they are serving fifty pies a day.  Their pies are made with fresh seasonal fillings like blueberry, rhubarb, and strawberry balsamic.  Even though they are very busy they continue to make their own crust from scratch.  "When you make a good pie crust it's really gratifying." says Emily.
Click here to visit Four & Twenty Blackbirds and read about their unique shop!  Their coffee is amazing too!!!
