For all of us ladies (and men) over fifty who work at a desk all day. GET UP AND WALK AROUND! Even if you work out before or after work it is still not enough. It is more than important for your health that you get up from your desk and move around throughout the work day. Use the stairs instead of the elevator. Stand by your desk if you can.
In a New York Times article, written by Eric V. Copage, it states that Salo, a financial staffing firm in Minneapolis, is encouraging their employees to have walking meetings. The firm has set up "treadmill desks." How cool is that! You walk on the treadmill while talking to your business associates. Not only do you get your work accomplished but you lose weight and stay healthy. They have even gone so far as to set up the treadmill desks with computers. I would love it if my desk was a treadmill!!!! Would you???
