Dog Posters

When walking around the west side of NYC we came across this little art gallery.  I took these cute pics through the window.

My very first car!

My very first car was a hand-me-down from my mom.  A yellow Plymouth Valiant with a black top.  It looked like a box, but I was happy to have it!  Car styles have certainly come a long way.
What was your first car?

Mine was boxier.

I also had a white Camaro.  Loved it until it was stolen.

I was also lucky enough to have a 1976 "2002" BMW in tan.
Didn't realize then how fortunate I was!

Lauren Hutton

Another one of our favorites, actress and model Lauren Hutton has a line of make-up and skin care products that she promises will make you feel and look younger!  Sounds good to me.  Click here to visit Lauren Hutton's site.

Only Red

Just for fun
When I was in NYC last week I saw how a red theme was emerging for the holiday season.  I think that a red dress is perfect for a holiday party or just to go out dancing. I would love to wear a red dress and go dancing in a nightclub. While surfing the internet I came across a search engine that shows only red dresses.  Take a look here.   And here are only red shoes .   And if you get tired of seeing red then you can find all the black dresses  that you could want.  And of course all of the black boots that you could want too!

I usually opt for black but this time of year has got me thinking!  Ladies, would you like to wear a red dress?

Bethesda Terrace Arcade was created in the 1860s as a part of the Park’s main formal architectural feature. The highlight of the Arcade is the magnificent Minton Tile ceiling.

Osteoporosis Medication or an Alternative

Hi my ladies,
I have a question for you.  Is anyone taking Boniva, Actonel, or Atelvia?  What do you think of these bone-rebuilding medications?  Now there is also Reclast, the once a year infusion.  That one really scares me.  And Fosamax.  I won't even link to that one!

Although I have worked out so much of my life, I was still diagnosed with osteoporosis.  I'm sure it is because I have slacked off over the years with exercising and have not taken in enough calcium.  Although it is really not taking in enough calcium that is the problem.  It seems like we don't get enough Vitamin D3 which is needed to help the calcium get absorbed.  Also, I have some risk factors that would predispose me to osteoporosis.
Well now it is time to get serious.  There is really no option.  We must exercise.   Now I know that I must always work out.
My doctor strongly suggested that I take one of the above medications.  The verdict is still out on that.  I am researching these meds and not liking what I am reading.
I am going to start a serious exercise program (hopefully) and take in more calcium, (not necessarily in the form of a pill)  and definitely Vitamin D3 in supplement form and maybe Vitamin K.
Ladies, anyone with osteoporosis using an alternative to these above highlighted medications?  I would love to hear from you!
I am reading a lot of info by Dr. Susan Brown, Phd and she is extremely knowledgeable on this subject.
Dr. Brown is against these medications and she explains why.  Dr. Brown gives us information that we can really live by!  Extremely encouraging!  Please click on her name to read more!

Diane Keaton is the new face of Chico's

Hi my ladies and welcome to Monday,

One of our all time favorite ladies over 50, the amazing Diane Keaton, who is 65 years young,  is the first-ever celeb to endorse the Chico's brand  clothing line. Keaton will appear in the November issues of various magazines and we will also see her in television ads for Chico's during the holiday season.
“This is my first [fashion campaign]. I love clothes. Can’t you tell?” said Keaton.

The television commercials were directed by Pierluca Di Carlo,  and the print ads were photographed by Carter Smith.

“Her spontaneity, her wonderful wit and her remarkable eye for individual style are the perfect complements to our brand,” said Cinny Murray, brand president of Chico’s, which is a division of Chico’s FAS Inc.

The campaign...... “Live for the present,”....... Chico's wants to stand both as a personal spiritual mantra and a reminder of the gift-giving season.  I love the double meaning!

“Chico’s embraces being an individual, and I love individual style. They’re not afraid of variety. Chico’s understands women,” said Keaton.

How can we ever forget the great style of "Annie Hall" which Diane Keaton won an Oscar for?  I think we all wanted to look like Diane Keaton did in "Annie Hall."  I know I did!
“Love makes the world go ’round. And so do hats and gloves and a fabulous belt,” added Keaton.

And a little nostalgia
