First bikini ever!

This past summer the bikini turned sixty-five years old.  It was introduced in Paris on July 5, 1946 by fashion designer, Louis Reard.  Reard named the bikini from Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands where days earlier the fourth atomic bomb was exploded as a test.   There was not a model around who would wear the scant piece of material so Reard hired nude dancer Micheline Bernardini, from the Casino de Paris,  to model it.   Needless to say, the bikini was a hit and changed swimwear forever!!!
