Hi ladies,
This is the first Barbie commercial ever! I'm sure that we watched this commercial! The last line got to me. The media has always been sending out the wrong messages to young girls! Don't get me wrong. I loved my Barbie dolls! I couldn't collect enough clothes and accessories. I wish that I had saved them. And of course I bought Barbie dolls for my daughter. What is your opinion?
Hi Elyse, You sure do keep it interesting. I think I am a feminist so I think perhaps Barbie is not a good toy. However I LOVED MY BARBIES and I too, wish I'd saved them (nostalgia plus they are worth a fortune). Of all the toys I must have played with it's Barbie that I remember! Did you see on Facebook where people suggested they make a cancer Barbie? Remember the heads came off? We had a friend who stole a Barbie head and replaced it with an old one! So whatever you play with has it's lessons. Love your blog, ann
