Angelina's leg

Hi lovely ladies,
Such a coincidence.  I did a post this morning on Christian Louboutin and Peter Lippman.  I was just browsing the net and found a different kind of take on one of the masterpieces!

It's the famous Angelina Jolie leg!
It's showing up everywhere.

A fun place for sweets

When I was in Florida we went in to Sloan's, a yummy sweet shop, in Mizner Park.  So pretty and cheerful.  A combo of old-fashioned and new.

Life-sized dolls all around the shop.

Caramel apples-yum!

Every kind of candy imaginable including Bonomo's Turkish Taffy.

Chocolate galore.

How pretty is the ceiling?

The train runs the length of the store.

Peter Lippmann and Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin collaborated with photographer Peter Lippmann to create portraits of women from art masterpieces.  It is genius how Lippmann incorporated the signature Christian Louboutin shoe in the portraits.  The collection is Fall/Winter 2011.

'Arrangement in Grey and Black- The Artist's Mother' - James Whistler (1871)

'Portrait of a Girl' - Jean Baptiste Camille Corot (1796–1875)

'Madame d’Antin' - Jean-Marc Nattier (1738)

'Saint Dorothy' - Francisco De Zurbaran (1640-1650)

'Portrait d'une negresse' - Marie-Guillemine Benoist (1800)

'Elizabeth of Austria' - Francois Clouet (c.1571)

I know that for some, books and bookcases will become a thing of the past.  But for those of us who have book collections......take a look at these very different bookcases!  What do you think?  Too wild?!?

This one looks like a big question mark.

Okay, this one makes me dizzy.

This looks so comfy to sit in your bookcase and read (or nap.)

"O" my!

You can find these bookcases at

Foods for a white smile

Here are some foods that are helpful in keeping your smile white.  I would love to whiten my smile but I do not think that it is good to eat a lot of cheese.  So that one I would keep to a minimum.  The other suggestions I will definitely listen to!
1. Cheese
Cheese contains calcium, which strengthens teeth as well as the jaw. And its waxy texture helps brush away food particles.

2. Green Tea
This beverage is packed with polyphenol antioxidants that fight plaque-forming free radicals and help prevent gum disease. Brew your tea with plain old tap water, which is fortified with fluoride, and drink it after meals because antioxidants curb bad breath, too.

3. Mushrooms

The most common natural source of vitamin D in the produce section, these fungi help you absorb tooth-strengthening calcium. Also, research suggests that a component in shiitake mushrooms may help prevent cavities by lowering plaque buildup, says Jackie Newgent, R.D., author of Big Green Cookbook.

4. Pistachios
Like most nuts, pistachios have huge amounts of magnesium, which increases the absorption of calcium; they also have beta-carotene, which may lessen gum inflammation, the main cause of periodontal disease.

5. Yogurt
Probiotics, aka good bacteria, don't do only your digestive tract good. According to research, probiotic-rich foods like yogurt offer protection against gum disease by lowering levels of bad bacteria in the mouth. Plus, yogurt is a solid source of calcium, whey protein and phosphorus, the ultimate strong-tooth trio, Newgent says. (Mix in, don't spill, the liquid lingering on top; it's the stuff that hits the protein sweet spot.)

The offenders
You know the obvious offenders—coffee, tomato sauce, wine (even white; it's very acidic, which weakens enamel and leads to stains). Post-happy hour, rinse and brush or use no-water-necessary Colgate Wisp mini-brush pouch pack, $5 (for 16). And enjoy your Starbucks with milk. The combo creates a chemical reaction that may protect teeth, says Irwin Smigel, D.D.S., a cosmetic dentist in NYC.

These helpful tips are from "Self" magazine.

How would you decorate?

When I was in Florida we went to Mizner Park which is a fun shopping mall in Boca Raton.  It is so pretty with the finest stores and restaurants.  We had dinner at Max's Grille.  The food was delicious.
After dinner we walked into a furniture store called "Z Gallerie."  I thought that they had the most beautiful furniture.  I would love to decorate my home with so many of these beautiful pieces.  What do you think of these settings?  What is your decorating style?  You can visit "Z Gallerie" on line here .

It's all about vases - the bigger the better!

What do you think about this sofa back table?  I think it is outrageous!

I love these chairs and side bench with the chunky dining table
and the huge vase and flowers.

I think the blue accents really pop with the white accessories.

How awesome is this vase?

This sofa is like a bed with the inside ottoman.
Again, the vase makes a statement.

I love this mirrored piece.

I would love to sit back and read a magazine in this comfortable wing chair.

Happy Monday!

Good morning lovely ladies,

I was away in Florida since Tuesday.  I had the most wonderful time with my family.  It was so beautiful there.  I have not gone anywhere in four years so it was really special to be away.  The weather was sunny and hot.  It was such a treat to be surrounded by green grass and colorful flowers.  I have so many photos to share with you.  I will upload them when I get to the office.  (what a great break to be away from my desk for a few days!)

This was actually my only time on the beach for a few minutes.
I just wanted to put my feet in the warm sand!

Have a great weekend!

What are you doing this weekend?  I am looking forward to watching the Academy Awards.  Of course my favorite part is the red carpet!  I always wish that I could go to the Academy Awards and mingle with all the celebs.  What would I wear?  What would I say?  How nervous would I be?  But how exciting!!!
Whatever you do this weekend have a good one!
