We will always remember.

Please let us never forget what happened to twenty beautiful young children and their teachers last week.  These children and teachers will always be in our hearts.
How do we prevent this tragedy from ever happening again?  So much in our world has to be fixed.  Gun control, mental health issues, violence on television and in the movies, violent video games.  Our society revolves around how much money can be made regardless of who it is hurting.  We have lost sight of what is truly important.  Where is the love?  Where is the caring?
Who is going to step up and truly make a change?

Target and Neiman Marcus.

Target and Neiman Marcus have joined together with 24 top designers, such as Alice & Olivia, Tory Burch, Brian Atwood, Carolina Herrera, etc. to create a limited edition line of  accessories, housewares, clothes, etc. currently selling in their stores and online.  It is a 50 piece collection.  Honestly I did not know about this collaboration until I saw it in Target. I believe it did not get the hype that the Missoni collection received last year.  So it was not a sell out in one day nor was it intended to be,  I have read.  I really thought the items were great.  There were a few that I didn't love.  Some of the items were a little pricey.  That could also be a reason that they did not sell like Missoni did.  Well the good news is that everything was put on sale as of yesterday.  So I am going to return one or two items that I purchased as well as tell my niece that what I bought her for her birthday and graduation I paid full price.  She really liked her gifts (Brian Atwood embellished leather gloves and Carolina Herrera travel bags) so now she can purchase more at a very discounted price.

Forty Carrots at Bloomingdale's.

Even if I am not shopping at Bloomingdale's  I love to go have lunch at "Forty Carrots."  "Forty Carrots" is the pretty little cafe at Bloomingdale's.
The food is really good and it is not too pricey. "Forty Carrots" also has the BEST frozen yogurt.  What is nice about having lunch there is that you can eat lunch and then go and walk around "Bloomies" and then when you are done either shopping or just browsing you are definitely ready to go back and have the best frozen yogurt .  They also make the best smoothies.  During the winter months when you are looking for an indoor activity it is really fun to visit Bloomingdale's and have a nice lunch.  And the great thing is you don't have to walk into the mall at all. (at least on Long Island)

Fresh fruits and veggies for smoothies.

Freshly made salads.

The best yogurt!

Just for fun read the history of Bloomingdale's here.

A TRAGIC DAY.

Im too upset to even wish everyone a good weekend after learning about the tragedy in Connecticut.
Just a senseless massacre that could have been avoided if there were no guns in this world.
Why do we need guns?  To defend ourselves?  If someone else didn't have a gun then you wouldn't have to defend yourself with a gun.  You don't have a chance when guns are involved.
GET RID OF THEM!!!!!!!
AMEND THE CONSTITUTION!!!!!!  I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO BEAR ARMS.  THAT IS OLD.  THE CONSTITUTION IS OLD.
I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILDHOOD, BACKGROUND, OR HOW HARD YOU HAD IT.
GUESS WHAT????  YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL.  YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE AWAY ANOTHER PERSON'S LIFE.
SWEET YOUNG CHILDREN IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WERE KILLED TODAY BECAUSE OF GUNS AND PEOPLE HAVING EASY ACCESS TO THEM.
THIS INSANITY HAS TO BE STOPPED.
EVERY GUN IN EVERY STORE IN AMERICA MUST BE TAKEN OFF THE SHELVES IMMEDIATELY!!!!  MAYBE THIS (DON'T EVEN WANT TO CALL HIM A PERSON) BOUGHT HIS GUN IN KMART OR WALMART OR WHEREVER.  WELL MAYBE IF THOSE STORES DID NOT SELL GUNS THIS HORRIFIC ACT WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS WORLD IS COMING TO.  IT'S VERY SAD.  THERE IS SUCH A LACK OF RESPECT, PATIENCE, KINDNESS AND JUST PLAIN CARING.  EVERYTHING IS ALL ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.  GET OVER IT!!!!!
WE BETTER FIX IT PEOPLE!!!!!!

Girl's night out!

A few nights ago my daughter and I attended a girls night out.  I really can't remember when I last did anything like this.  It was great!  Fun, relaxing, girl talk, wine...... and our feet soaking in warm fragrant water!  An amazing line of skin care products was introduced to us.
The products are by "Arbonne."  "Arbonne" was started in Switzerland in 1975.  The products are based on botanical principals.  And yes they are "green."  To sample them was a treat.  I can't wait to actually use them.  I am so interested in the anti-aging products.
Laura Punzone  was our "Arbonne" consultant for the evening.  She was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions that we had.  For fun Laura even asked us questions about "Arbonne" after she presented the company info to us!  I think she wanted to know if we were really listening to her presentation!
Wine, cheese, hors d'oeuvres  and a little me time.  Now that's a fun night!  Very welcome after "Hurricane Sandy."

Laura,  our Arbonne consultant.

So nice!!!  (can we do this every week???)

The products are so luxurious.

Lavender scent added to the water.  So beautiful and relaxing.

Foot scrub.  Amazing!!!

Towels waiting for us and hot towels warming up in the crock pot.

Incredible results!

This is one way to get out of having your pic taken!

My Dad's Special Birthday Celebration.

This New Year's Eve my Dad has a special Birthday.  It is so true when they say that it is just a silly number.    My Dad should teach a course in how to live life to the fullest!  My Dad is passionate about his work, his family, and his golf game.  This past Saturday my family hosted a Birthday lunch in his honor.  It was a surprise and he most definitely was surprised!  My sisters and brother and cousin (who is like a brother) and I made toasts to my Dad.  It was a beautiful intimate lunch with our family and my Dad's close friends.  Happy Birthday Dad!

                        My Dad was really surprised!
My first pic is very blurry...sorry.

Very blurry again (sorry) but very happy!
