TWA Terminal at J.F.K. Airport

Doctor Day Tripper is at it again!

Today Dr. Segan visited the TWA Terminal at J.F.K. airport. Great place to spend the afternoon.  I think it can be described as futuristic and retro all at the same time.  The TWA Terminal, designed by Eero Saarinen, opened in 1962.  Its iconic wing-shaped structure revolutionized airport design.  The terminal was a hub for transatlantic flights but closed in 2001.  In 2019, it reopened as the TWA Hotel, blending mid-century modern style with modern amenities.  You can read more about this iconic terminal here.   I remember when J.F.K. was Idlewild.  Do you?

LET'S TRAVEL BACK TO THE SIXTIES!

The ten smallest countries in the world.

Hi lovely ladies,
I found these beautiful images on the web.  I am deciding which of these countries I would like to visit first.  Tuvalu looks so pretty.  The sky looks so amazingly bright.  What about the castle in San Marino? Out of a fairytale!  And the colorful boats in Malta.  This is a hard decision but one I'm probably not going to have to make anytime soon so I will keep deciding.  Ladies would you want to travel to any of these tiny countries?  Which one would you choose?  Have you been to any of them?

Imagine going to LA for lunch or China for the day!

Following is a video of what is called "Evacuated Tube Transport."   It would consist of different sized capsules that can carry cargo and people using maglev (magnetic levitation) tracks.  They would travel at speeds of 350mph to 4000mph.  In the video it says that you would be able to travel from New York to LA in 45 minutes and from New York to China in 2 hours.  Sounds so crazy to me but I'm sure that it will happen one day.  I know the same was said about flying or space travel.

The Places I'd Like to Visit

Watching the new show "Pan Am"  (Sunday nights  on ABC) made me think of all the places in the country and the world that I would love to visit.  Just wanted to share them with you.
From the very first time I watched the "Sound of Music" with my daughter we became so interested in visiting Austria.
Austria

The mountains of Austria where Maria sang "The Hills are alive"

Cannes

Israel
Bahamas
Caribbean
Ipanema (I always made believe that I was the girl from Ipanema)
Italy
Surrey

London

English Countryside

I would love to see many places in the United States.  The one state that I want to visit the most is California!  I was born in California when my dad was in the army.  He was stationed in a few states around the country.  My parents lived in California for about a year and a half.  So all I remember is what I have seen in home movies.  I have only been back there once and that was about 26 years ago.  So California is first on my list of places in the U.S.

Malibu
Manhattan Beach, California

Napa Valley
Ladies, where would you like to travel to if you could pick any place in the world?
